JOIN US IN HELPING MACIEK
Maciek is 13 years old and eight years ago was diagnosed with a brain tumor. He underwent surgery which resulted in the loss of his eyesight, however after an intensive re-habilitation he partially regained vision in his right eye. Unfortunatelly the tumor came back and in order to rescue Maciek an operation is needed. It is not possible to carry out this type of intervention in Poland without putting Maciek at risk of loosing his painfully regained eyesight, which could also cause mental retardation and memory loss. The only chance he has is at the medical university at Goettingen and the estimated cost is 20,000Euros. The operation would be carried out by one of the most prominent surgeons, Professor Veit Rohde. If you want to join us in helping Maciek you can either do it through us or directly at the Polish foundation:

On the 17th of December 2010, Estera Lussato took part in a beautiful event in Warsaw organised by the Foundation of Fulfilled Dreams in cooperation with fashion designers Ewa and Piotr Krajewski. The evening coincided with the promotion of the Charity's calendar featuring famous polish artists wearing a fantastic collection designed by the Krajewski's. Little Marcelek is very ill and lives in very hard and challenging life conditions. His family lost their flat and are currently sleeping in a shelter. We help as much as we can hoping that it will - at least a little bit- ease his hardship. We are with you little man.
LHCF AND TODDLER TIMES TEAM UP TO BRING HAPPINESS TO ILL CHILDREN AT CHRISTMAS.
Toddler Times provides art classes in London for children between 18months and 4 years. This year the little ones created amazing christmas cards which were hand delivered to children with cancer in Warsaw who are under care of the Foundation of Fulfilled Dreams. We would love to thank KATI MENCER for initiating this project and her big heart.

LHCF
Supports a foundation "good deed" in
their action "send a dream". "Send a Dream" is an action where people
send handwritten letters and postcards to very ill children. This simple gesture
give them lots of power to fight their sickness and help them and their families
know that they are not alone.

LHCF SUPPORTS THE FOUNDATION OF
FULFILLED DREAMS (Fundacja Spelnione Marzenia)
LHCF makes a financial contribution towards the opening of the new branch of the Foundation of Fulfilled Dreams in Lublin. The new branch will be inaugurated on the 22 March 2010 with a fashion show featuring children with cancer along well-known show business stars who support the foundation and the new project.
The Fulfilled Dreams Foundation (Fundacja Spelnione Marzenia) takes care of
children with cancer in two specialized centres in Warsaw: the Institute of
Mother and Child which treats children from all over Poland and the Public
Clinical Hospital which treats children from Mazowsze and neighbouring counties.
The foundation also gives its support and assistance to all oncology centres in
Poland.
LHCF COMMITTS TO AN ORPHANAGE
FOR GRAVELY ILL CHILDREN
The foundation 'House in Lodz' is a
place that gathers children who are not only gravely ill and disabled but also
deprived of parental love often because of their condition. Children come from
all walks of life carrying sometimes heavy psychological luggage. This orphanage
is the only institution of that sort in all of Poland meaning that all other
gravely ill orphans grow up in hospitals or hospices often surrounded by older
people at the end of their lives.
The project came to life in 2007 thanks to Jolanta Bobinska, a woman with a big
heart and a determination to help the most needy children. In this unique House
children find not only much needed security, love and care but also are offered
a chance for development.
We are proud to help this organisation in furthering their goals and are
committing our ongoing support through donations and gifts that we hope will be
able to contribute to the wellbeing of the children.

LHCF FULFILLS A DREAM
LHCF in cooperation with "I have a dream" foundation (Fundacja Mam Marzenie) fulfilled
a dream of a 12 year old Agatka by donating a laptop. 'I have a dream'
foundation is a Polish charity which grants wishes to
children with life threatening conditions.
LHCF has its original roots in granting a wish to a sick child and will continue
this tradition during its existence to honour the little girl who was the
seed to our organization.

LHCF SUPPORTS THE POMERANIA HOSPICE FOR CHILDREN
"AT HOME CHILDREN ARE LESS AFRAID"
LHCF buys 1 portable mammam and 5 inhalers for Pomerania Hospice for
Children.
Pomerania Hospice takes care of terminally ill children in their homes after
doctor's decision to terminate a treatment in a hospital. The hospice aim is to
reduce suffering and improve quality of life, however little might be left, and
to surround the families with the necessary psychological care.
Children in the arms of their parents feel not only safer and calmer but
they also feel love, so important at the time of their departure...
LHCF grants a scholarship
LHCF recently started collaborating with a charity Vide Supra that supports
exceptionaly gifted young people who are in financial difficulties by creating
grant programs so they can have an equal start in life. This year LHCF granted a
scholarship to Sylwia Niedzwiecka, a very talented art student and
laureate of many artistic competitions who we hope will have the
chance to realize her dream and pursue her passion for many years to come.
January 2010
LHCF supported WOSP.
Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (WOSP) is a Polish charity whose objective is to protect and save children's life by providing medical equipment to public hospitals. Every year WOSP organizes a national charity action to realize its goals. This year, on its 18th event, its entire proceeds went for children with cancer.
Little Hand Children's Foundation would like to wish you a very happy and healthy New Year 2010. We enter the year full of enthusiasm and hope to continue to help many children this year with your help.
October 2009
LHCF supported Kubus Krysiak.
Little Kubus Krysiak suffers from Guillain-Barre Syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that attacks healthy nerve cells. This leads to paralysis and loss of reflexes which means that Kubus is unable to eat breathe or walk alone. However with the right amount of rehabilitation, and a good dose of determination, little Kubus has a chance to recover.
Become Kubus' supporter and help us to change his precious life.
September
10th of September: We lost one of our inspirations, little Polunia Wesołowska, who bravely fought with cancer for more then four years. Her braveness and smile taught us what life is all about and changed the lives of so many people including ours.
